Horseshoe Bay Beach, Bermuda

Horseshoe Bay Beach, Bermuda

Bermuda

April 28, 2015 by Sheila Collins

On a Friday afternoon at work a few of my co-workers and I were plotting on a way to “get away from it all.”  Getting away wasn’t really the problem- the issue was more so “where should we go?”  It was the end of August, which meant Summer was almost over.  This could only mean one thing…Beach Trip!  With a flight to Bermuda looking wide open and only 24 hours to spend on our trip, we caught a Saturday morning flight to the island.  I had no idea how beautiful this place would be!

Flying into the island I could see the crystal clear blue water from the sky.  Scenic views of several beaches during the drive to our hotel made us all even more anxious to finally step foot on the beach.

We stayed at the Fairmont Southampton and it was truly paradise.  A hotel shuttle took us down to the private hotel beach, which was just around the corner from the beautiful Horseshoe Bay beach.  The food served on the hotel’s private beach was quite delicious- and if you are ever in Bermuda, be sure to try a Rum Swizzle!

Of all the beaches I have ever visited (and I have been to quite a few) Horseshoe Bay beach is my favorite. The sand is as soft as flour and it’s light pink in color! The water is so clear you can see beautiful tropical fish swimming about you.  Large rocks protrude from the water and are a thing of beauty.

I wish I had more time to spend on this beautiful island- until next time Bermuda!
